Dr. Richard G. Harris

Dr. Richard G. Harris is Telus Professor of Economics at Simon Fraser University and an Associate of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. He received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 1975. He has taught at Queen's University, was Director of the John Deutsch Institute for the Study of Economic Policy, and has held visiting professorships at MIT, Berkeley, and the University of Sydney. His area of specialization is international economics, especially the economics of integration. A former President of the Canadian Economics Association, he is currently involved in research on the North American Free Trade Area, North American Currency Union, and the globalization of labour markets.
