Festschrift Release and Dinner in Honour of Ian Stewart
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the Centre for the Study of Living Standards is honouring long-time CSLS Chair Ian Stewart and his distinguished professional career as an economic researcher and policy adviser. The dinner will take place on Friday, September 16, 2011 in the Laurier Room at the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa, beginning at 7 PM, with registration and a reception starting at 6 PM.
Ian’s career was marked by a deep belief in the power of government to make life better and in the power of research and analysis to inform government policy. We are celebrating this career with the publication of a festschrift volume, edited by Andrew Sharpe and Fred Gorbet, titled New Directions for Intelligent Government in Canada. Many of Canada’s leading economists and policymakers, including John Helliwell, David Dodge, Munir Sheikh, Don Drummond, Scott Clark, and Robin Boadway, have contributed to the volume and will attend the dinner. More information of the festschrift, including a table of contents, is available here.
The price for the dinner is $90 (including HST) per person. This includes a copy of the festschrift volume. As space may be limited, you are asked to register early.
Click "Buy Now" to purchase tickets. You may purchase more than one ticket by changing the quantity on the PayPal page. There are 8 seats per table. If you are purchasing tickets for more than one person, or for someone other than yourself, please contact CSLS to provide the names of the attendees.
