Dr. Craig Riddell

Dr. Craig Riddell is Royal Bank Faculty Research Professor in of Economics at the University of British Columbia. His research interests are in labour economics, labour relations and public policy. Current research is focused on unemployment and labour market dynamics, the role of human capital in economic growth, experimental and non-experimental approaches to the evaluation of labour market and social programs, unionization and collective bargaining, gender differences in labour market behaviour and outcomes, unemployment insurance, and education and training. He is co-author (with Morley Gunderson and Dwayne Benjamin) of Labour Market Economics, the leading Canadian labour economics textbook. He is the past President of the Canadian Economics Association and has served as Academic Co-chair of the Canadian Employment Research Forum.
